A Gypsum woman has been convicted of repeatedly using a cattle prod to discipline her 15-year-old daughter.

The Salina Journal is reporting that Saline County jurors deliberated for nearly two hours today before finding 53-year-old Connie Thompson-Dupes guilty of one count of child abuse.

I had no idea this was illegal!

On Obama’s First Press Conference

“Obama is not excessively didactic—though he did correct one reporter’s characterization of the role of excessive consumer spending in the economic collapse. He’s orderly. This is in great contrast to his predecessor, who sometimes spoke in small colloquial bursts. Those who found that to be George W. Bush’s most irritating quality have probably already watched Obama again on TiVo for the delight of hearing a string of complete sentences. “

Nancy Pelosi is dumber than soap

“Every month we don’t have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans loose their jobs.”

Nancy, you dumb cow. There are only a total of 300 million Americans. So either she is just exaggerating to support her cause, or she has no idea how many workers are actually in the country.

A bigger question for Daschle…

Do any of these clowns pay taxes?

Posted in Misc by Roenblog on the February 2nd, 2009

The men in charge of pumping up my taxes are cheats! How do you “forget” an 1,000,000/year consulting job. Obama wanted an administration without scandal. Not So. To date we have two cabinet members with potential tax fraud, and another who is just incompetent enough to pardon Marc Rich. Where does it end? Chicago politics has tainted the Obama administration. If he had any respect for the American tax payer he would tell the justice department and the IRS to go after theses clowns, and find a group of incorruptible men to advise him.

Obama ‘Absolutely’ Backs Daschle After Apology for Tax Errors

Feb. 2 (Bloomberg) — Barack Obama said he “absolutely”
stands behind Thomas A. Daschle, the president’s nominee for
Health and Human Services Secretary who amended his U.S. tax
returns Jan. 2 to pay $140,000 in back taxes and interest.
Daschle also won the support of Senate Finance Committee
Chairman Max Baucus, a Montana Democrat, whose panel will meet
today with the nominee. Daschle, a former Senate Democratic
leader, also had been named by Obama to head a new White Office
of Health Reform and was viewed as the new administration’s
leading spokesman on its efforts to expand health coverage to
more Americans and reduce medical costs.
Daschle, in a letter to the Finance Committee, said he was
“deeply embarrassed” about his tax errors. He amended his 2005,
2006 and 2007 returns to add unreported consulting fees,
unspecified charitable contributions and a car and driver
provided by Leo Hindery Jr., founder of the private-equity firm
InterMedia Advisors, a committee draft report said.
“The ability to advance meaningful health reform is my top
priority in confirming a Secretary of Health and Human Services,
and I remain convinced that Senator Daschle would be an
invaluable and expert partner in this effort,” Baucus said in an
e-mailed statement today. “I am eager to move forward
together.”
The president made his comment in a one-word response to a
question from reporters at a White House event today.
Daschle’s nomination must be confirmed by the finance
committee. Republican Jon Kyl of Arizona, a panel member, said on
“Fox News Sunday” that it’s too early to tell whether the
nomination is in trouble. (more…)
